Sanctioning: This ride will be run under the sanctions of American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC).
Accommodations: The base camp is located at the Historic Circle 9 Ranch, 6654 Jerseydale Road
(approximately 13 miles from the town of Mariposa). Park rigs in a grassy meadow. Potable water and water troughs for Horses are available. On Friday, there will be a "Bring your own meat BBQ" from 5PM-9PM. We will provide the BBQ, baked potatoes, beans, salad, bread, coffee, tea & dessert. You provide the meat of your choice. Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday night 5 - 9 PM.
The Trail: The rides will be on mountain trails, fire and abandoned logging roads, that cross streams and
seasonal creeks, across private ranches and the U.S. Forest. You will ride through the beautiful scenic splendor of California's Southern High Sierra with views of Yosemite's snow capped peaks. There will be water troughs near radio check points and at vet checks. We will supply water for riders also! The ride will start and finish at the Circle 9 Ranch in Jerseydale. We would like to stress the importance of having a WELL-CONDITIONED horse as this could be a difficult ride, depending on weather conditions. We encourage riders to have crews and crew maps will be available.
Veterinary Inspection: A pre-ride veterinary inspection will be held at the Circle 9 Ranch between the hours
of 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM on Friday, June 24th. There will be a pre-ride meeting at approximately 8:15 PM at the dinner area. All horses must satisfy the ride veterinarians as to condition and soundness before being allowed to proceed at any time during the ride. PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE FOR LATE ARRIVALS!
Entry Fees: $80 for the 25 miler and $90 for the 50 miler if your entry is postmarked on or before June18th.
Entries postmarked after June 18th add a $20 late fee. Full refunds will be given if ride management is notified by June 23rd. Juniors and 2005 Ride Managers are half price. NO SHOWS RECEIVE NO REFUND! The entry fee includes the $3.00 California Drug Fee. Complimentary donuts and coffee will be provided on Saturday morning before the ride. The Saturday meal is included with the your entry. Friday night "Bring Your Own Meat" BBQ cost is $5.00. Extra meal tickets may be purchased for family & crews as follows: Friday night $5.00 each, Saturday night $10.00 per person. A $20.00 fee will be retained if Horse cannot pass veterinary Check-In. CHECKS WILL NOT BE CASHED UNTIL AFTER THE RIDE.

25 Miler - Buckle award OR commemorative Wine Glasses to all finishers and Top Horse Award
50 Miler - Buckle award OR commemorative Wine Glasses to all finishers. Overall Winner, 1st in each
weight division, 1st Junior, Top Ten and Best over-all condition
Silent Auction: Held Saturday. With proceeds to benefit the Mariposa County Evergreen 4-H Equine Project
Directions: From Merced, CA, take Hwy. 140 East to Mariposa/Yosemite. As you enter the town of Mariposa, turn
right onto Hwy 49 South and continue to Bootjack (approx +/- 5 miles). Turn Left on Darrah Road. At Darrah Road and Triangle Road (Stop Sign) continue straight. (Darrah Road turns into Jerseydale Road). Go approximately +/- 3 miles to the Circle 9 Ranch. Parking will be on the left (look for apple orchard and log house on left). From Fresno, take hwy 41 North to Oakhurst. Turn Left on Hwy 49 (1st Red Light) and proceed for approx +/- 15 miles to Triangle Road. Turn Right and proceed for approx. 7 miles to Jerseydale Road. Turn right and follow +/- 3 miles to Circle 9 Ranch (look for apple orchard and log house on left). Watch for signs and pink ribbons along this route to help direct you. |
